On March 28, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held its Admissions Counseling Day – TDTU Open Day 2026 – attracting a large number of high school students from various provinces and cities. The event was organized in the form of "booths," with each faculty having its own counseling area, creating a vivid and engaging experience for prospective students.
The counseling area of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics attracted a large number of students who visited, participated in games, and sought information. The atmosphere at the booth was lively, with students showing enthusiasm and actively asking many questions related to the training program, career opportunities, and study orientation. During the counseling session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Xuan Phuong – Head of Department of Statistics and Dr. Duong Thanh Phong – Head of Department of Applied Mathematics, directly provided detailed advice and answers to students' questions, helping them gain a clearer understanding of the field of study.
Alongside the lecturers, the students of the Faculty also played a crucial role in supporting the organization. Students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics demonstrated dynamism, enthusiasm, and actively guided candidates in participating in activities and games, while also sharing their practical experiences during their studies. Many impressive images were captured: the spontaneous interaction between students and candidates, the concentration on solving mathematical puzzles in the open space. Mathematics appeared naturally everywhere – from stairs, chairs, tree trunks to makeshift "tables" created from any convenient space. Despite the hot weather, many candidates remained engrossed in doing math. The supporting students also flexibly used available materials to provide shade, creating a simple yet inspiring learning environment.
In parallel with the in-person activities, the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics also organized a livestream on YouTube to support candidates who could not attend. During the live stream, the organizing team introduced the school's facilities, updated viewers on the vibrant atmosphere of the event, and answered questions from the audience.
The Open Day was not just about admissions counseling; it also opened up a lively experiential space where the spirit of learning was naturally ignited. There, mathematics was no longer just dry formulas but became accessible, flexible, and inspiring, present in every moment of discovery, creativity, and connection for the learners.
