[REMINDER] INFORMATION ABOUT THE SEPTEMBER MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD QUALIFYING ROUND
To provide information and participation opportunities to incoming freshmen, and to remind returning students who have previously expressed interest, the Faculty is sharing details regarding the upcoming Mathematics Olympiad.
To select students for the official team representing the university at the 2027 National Mathematics Olympiad, the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics plans to hold a preliminary round with the following details:
1. FACULTY-LEVEL PRELIMINARY ROUND INFORMATION:
- Exam dates: Tentatively September 26–27, 2026
- Eligibility: All students
- Subjects: Calculus, Algebra (register for one or both subjects)
- Format: Written (essay-style), closed-book (approximately 5–10 questions per subject)
- Exam content:
+ Calculus: Sequences, functions, series, differential calculus, integral calculus (single-variable functions).
+ Algebra: Complex numbers, polynomials, linear algebra (systems of linear equations, matrices and determinants, linear spaces and linear mappings), combinatorics.

The official team will be formed following the preliminary round. Following that, you will receive periodic review sessions led by lecturers to help you achieve excellent results in the 2027 national competition.
2. INFORMATION ON THE 2027 NATIONAL OLYMPIAD
- Exam date: Tentatively April 2027
- Exam venue: Tentatively Quang Nam
- Purpose: To promote the movement of mathematics study and research, and to discover and nurture talented mathematics students nationwide.

3. A MESSAGE TO STUDENTS
This is an opportunity to participate in a major national-level mathematics competition and to make your mark—as well as bring distinction to your Faculty and University—in the field of mathematics.
To all students, especially first- and second-year students:
- Do not hesitate to register for the team selection qualifying round.
- You are young and have many opportunities to participate in this competition over the coming years; take the initiative to challenge yourself and explore your limits.
- Who knows? You might be the next face to make a name for yourself in the national student mathematics arena!
