ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE PRELIMINARY ROUND OF THE MATHEMATICS OLYMPICS

To select students for the official team to participate in the 2027 National Mathematical Olympiad, the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics plans to organize a preliminary round with the following information:

1. INFORMATION ON THE FACULTY-LEVEL PRELIMINARY ROUND:
- Exam time: Expected September 26-27, 2026
- Target audience:
All students
- Subjects: Calculus, Algebra (register for one or both subjects)
- Format: Essay, closed-book (approximately 5 to 10 questions/subject)

- Exam content:

+ Calculus: Sequences, functions, series, differential calculus, integral calculus (on functions of one variable).

+ Algebra: Complex numbers, polynomials, linear algebra (systems of linear equations, matrices and determinants, linear spaces and linear mappings), combinations.

After the preliminary round, the official team will be formed.

Immediately afterwards, you will receive regular review sessions from lecturers, aiming for high results in the 2027 national competition.

2. INFORMATION ON THE 2027 NATIONAL OLYMPIC COMPETITION
- Competition time:
Expected April 2027
- Competition location: Expected in Quang Nam
- Purpose: To promote the learning and research of mathematics, to discover and nurture talented mathematics students nationwide

3. MESSAGE TO STUDENTS

This is an opportunity for you to participate in a national-level mathematics competition, bringing good results in your studies and research in mathematics for yourself, your Faculty, and your University.

To all students, especially first and second-year students:
- Be bold and register to participate in the qualifying round for the national team selection exam.

- You are still very young and have many opportunities with this competition in the coming years, so be proactive and explore your limits.

- Who knows, you might be the next person to register for the National Student Mathematical Olympiad!
