Announcement regarding the organization of the Mathematics Competition – Theory and Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, themed “Mathematics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”
The Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics would like to announce the organization of the Mathematics Competition – Theory and Applications for the academic year 2025-2026 with the theme “Mathematics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” as follows:
1. Purpose and target audience
- Purpose:
- Students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics are encouraged to apply artificial intelligence (AI) tools creatively, effectively, and responsibly in their studies and research.
- Develop digital skills, especially in digital content creation, problem-solving, and AI application.
- Create high-quality digital academic products to build an open learning resource repository for future generations of students.
- Target audience:
- All students currently enrolled in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics are eligible to participate.
- Format: Individual or group (maximum 2 members).
- Each student/group may submit multiple entries on different topics.
2. Content and entries for the competition
1.Content
Candidates choose one (01) specific topic in the subjects within the training program framework to develop the product. AI acts as an "assistant" to support information search, suggest ideas, write simulation code and visualization. Candidates must be the editor, tester and ultimately responsible.
2. Competition entries (02 mandatory categories)
- Category A: Digital Products.
- Category B: AI Usage Log: A PDF document (maximum 5 A4 pages) describing the workflow, typical commands (prompts), and evaluation and critique of the AI results.
3. Detailed regulations regarding product format (Category A)

The app can be used on the web or mobile phone to look up/identify results. Format: Web App link or installation file (APK/IPA). |
Includes a screen recording video demonstrating the main features. |
4. Scoring criteria (on a 100-point scale)
- Expertise (40 points): Absolute accuracy, depth, and logical reasoning within the subject matter.
- Creativity and Effectiveness (30 points): Attractive, aesthetically pleasing, and educational presentation style; scientific writing style.
- AI Mastery (30 points): Skills in formulating intelligent commands and critical thinking regarding AI results (assessed through AI Usage Log).
5. Awards and Benefits
- Prize structure:
- 1st Prize: 1,500,000 VND + 1 Commemorative Plaque.
- 01 Second Prize: 1,000,000 VND + 01 Commemorative Plaque.
- 01 Third Prize: 700,000 VND + 01 Commemorative Plaque.
- 02 Consolation Prizes: 500,000 VND/prize + 01 Commemorative Plaque/prize.
- 01 Special Prize: "Most Innovative Product": 400,000 VND/prize + 01 Commemorative plaque/prize.
- Interest:
- The Organizing Committee proposes awarding training points to all participating students who submit valid entries to encourage creativity.
6. Enforcement Clause
- Candidates are responsible for academic honesty and integrity.
- The submission period for entries is from 08:00 on May 5, 2026 to 23:59 on May 20, 2026.

- Students should carefully read the detailed packaging instructions before submitting their work.
- The competition rules may be adjusted depending on the actual situation, and the Organizing Committee's decision is final.
