MATHEMATICS COMPETITION: THEORY AND APPLICATION - SEASON 4
Dear Lecturers and Students,
Thanks to the support of the lecturers and the enthusiastic participation of the students, the Mathematics Competition: Theory and Application (MCTA) - Season 3 was a great success. In order to continue that success as well as create more playgrounds for students of FMS, now the Organizing Committee (OC) officially announces that the MCTA has returned. Competition details are as follows:
I. Participants: All students of FMS
II. Specifications for the competition rounds:
1. The contest has 2 rounds:
A. The qualifying round takes place from 08:00 on 02/6/2025 to 23:59 on 04/6/2025.
B. The final round is scheduled to take place from 08:00 on 16/6/2025 to 23:59 on 18/6/2025.
2. Question form and how to participate:
A. Qualifying round: The organizers will publish the questions on Elearning and guide participants to answer them through the website of the FMS. The content of the questions is based on the knowledge of the first and second year of 2 majors in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Each student logs into the university's elearning system and answers questions. Qualifiers will take place in 3 days from 15/5/2025. Each candidate has 60 minutes to complete their questionnaire from the time of first login.
B. Final round: The excellent candidates who pass the qualifying round will be selected for the final round. Each candidate participating in the final round logs into the elearning system to complete the given set of questions within 60 minutes from the first login (similar to the qualifying round).
3. Announcement of results: No later than 3 days (excluding Saturday and Sunday) after the end of each round, the OC will announce the scores and list of candidates participating in the next round on the website of the FMS.
4. Prize structure:
A. Qualifying round: Candidates who answer the questions will be considered for academic participation. Candidates who answer 70% or more of the requirements will be allowed to participate in the final round.
B. Final round: The OC will select the 5 best candidates to award medals and prizes. The prize structure includes:
1 first prize: 1.5 million VND
1 second prize: 1 million VND
1 third prize: 700 thousand VND
2 consolation prizes, each prize is 400 thousand VND.
5. The OC may change the rules depending on the actual situation of the competition.
6. In case of any complaint, candidates should use the email provided by the School to send an email to the OC at chengocha@tdtu.edu.vn. The OC's decision is final.
