OPEN LETTER
Dear lecturers and students.
Following the success of the "Mathematics Challenge" Contest in previous seasons as well as contributing to creating a more useful playground for students of Ton Duc Thang University, the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics (FMS) would like to respectfully inform the lecturers and all students of the detailed information of the "Mathematics Challenge" Contest in 2024-2025.
I. Participants: All students of Ton Duc Thang University.
II. Specifications for the competition rounds:
1. The competition has 3 rounds:
- The qualifying round takes place from 08:00 on 30/12/2024 to 23:59 on 01/01/2025.
- The semi-final round takes place from 08:00 on 06/01/2025 to 23:59 on 08/01/2025.
- The final round is expected to take place in March 2023.
2. Question format and how to participate:
a) Qualifying round: Online multiple-choice test format. Questions revolve around basic issues of mathematics, statistics, information technology, economics, etc. The Organizing Committee (OC) will publish the questions on the University's Elearning system. Candidates participating in the contest, please log in to the elearning system to complete the questions.
b) Semi-final round: Online multiple-choice test format. The OC will publish the questions on the University's Elearning system. Candidates log in to the elearning system to complete the questions.
c) Final round: Specific rules, time and location will be announced by the OC later.
Announcement of results of each round: Within 3 days from the end of each round, the OC will publish the answers and list of candidates participating in the next round on the website of the FMS
3. Prize structure:
a) Qualifying round: Candidates who answer 50% or more of the questions correctly will be considered for additional practice points. Candidates who answer 70% or more of the questions correctly will be eligible to participate in the semi-finals.
b) Semi-finals: Candidates who answer 70% or more of the questions correctly will be eligible to participate in the final round. In addition, the 10 candidates who answer 70% or more of the questions correctly and have the fastest completion time will be awarded a commemorative medal by the OC.
c) Final round: Prizes include:
1 first prize: 1.5 million VND
1 second prize: 1 million VND
1 third prize: 700 thousand VND
2 consolation prizes, each worth 400 thousand VND.
The OC may change the rules depending on the actual situation of the competition.
In case of complaints, students use the email provided by the University to send an email to the OC at chengocha@tdtu.edu.vn. The decision of the OC is final.
The OC looks forward to receiving support from the lecturers as well as enthusiastic response from students.
