MATHEMATICS COMPETITION: THEORY AND APPLICATIONS - SEASON 3

Thanks to the support of the lecturers and the enthusiastic participation of the students, the Mathematics Competition: Theory and Application (MCTA) - Season 2 was a great success.In order to continue that success as well as create more playgrounds for students of FMS, now the Organizing Committee (OC) officially announces that the MCTA has returned. Competition details are as follows:

I. Participants: All students of FMS

II. Specifications for the competition rounds:

1. The contest has 2 rounds:

a. The qualifying round takes place from 08:00 on 6/5/2024 to 23:59 on 8/5/2023.

b. The final round is scheduled to take place on Wednesday afternoon 22/5/2024.

2. Question form and how to participate:

a. Qualifying round: The organizers will publish the questions on Elearning and guide participants to answer them through the website of the FMS. The content of the questions is based on the knowledge of the first and second year  of 2 majors in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Each student logs into the university's elearning system and answers questions. Qualifiers will take place in 3 days from 6/5/2024. Each candidate has 60 minutes to complete their questionnaire from the time of first login.

b. Final round: The best contestants who pass the qualifying round will be selected for the final round. Specific time, venue and regulations for the final round  will be announced later.

3. Announcement of results: No later than 4 days after the end of the qualifying round, OC will publish the list of candidates for the final round on the website of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics.

4. Award structure:

a. Qualifying round: Contestants who answer correctly 50% of the questions or more will be considered for training points. Particularly, candidates who answer 70% or more of the requirements will be eligible to participate in the final round.

b. Final round: OC will choose 5 best groups to give souvenirs and prizes. The award structure includes:

-1 first prize: 1.5 million dong
-1 second prize: 1 million dong
-1 third prize: 700 thousand dong
-2 consolation prizes: 400,000 VND each.

5. OC may change the rules depending on the actual situation of the contest.

6. In case of complaints, students use the email provided by the university to send an email to the OC (chengocha@tdtu.edu.vn). OC's decision is final. OC is looking forward to receiving the support from the lecturers as well as the enthusiastic response from the students.
