MATHEMATICS COMPETITION: THEORY AND APPLICATIONS 2023-2024

        To organize the  Mathematics Competition: Theory and Applications (MCTA) 2023-2024 and to ensure the fairness, the Organizing Committee of FMS issues specific contest rules as follows:

I. Participants: All students at Ton Duc Thang University.

II. Regulations on competition rounds:

1. The contest has 3 rounds:

+ The qualifying round takes place from 08:00 December 15, 2023 to 23:59 December 17, 2023.

+ The semi-finals take place from 08:00 December 22, 2023 to 23:59 December 24, 2023.

+ The final round is expected to take place in March 2024.

2. Question format and how to participate:

+ Qualifying round: Online multiple choice form. The content of the questions revolves around basic issues of mathematics, statistics, information technology, economics... The organizers will publish the questions on the university's e-learning system. Candidates participating in the contest please log in to the elearning system to complete the questions.

+ Semi-final round: Online multiple choice form. The organizers will announce the questions on the system
the university's e-learning system. Candidates participating in the contest please log in to the system
elearning system to complete the questions.

+ Final round: Organized in the form of teambuilding on the campus of Tan Phong.

3. Announcement of results of each round: Within 3 days from the end of each round, the organizers will announce the answers and list of candidates participating in the next round on the website of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics.

III. Prize structure:

1. Qualifying round: Candidates who answer 50% or more of the questions correctly will be considered
to get training points. Candidates who answer 70% or more of the questions correctly will be eligible to participate in the semi-finals.

2. Semi-final round: Candidates who get 70% or more of the test requirements correct will be able to participate the Final round. In addition, 10 first candidates completed 70% or more of the requirements correctly  will be awarded a medal by the Organizing Committee.

3. Final Rounds: Prizes include:

1 first prize: 1,500,000 VND

1 second prize: 1,000,000 million VND

1 third prize: 700,000 VND

2 consolation prizes of 400,000 VND each

IV. Modification of rules: Only the Organizing Committee has the right to amend and supplement these Rules by specific notice.
